WORLD HERITAGE LAMINGTON NATIONAL PARK BINNA-BURRA
COOMERA CIRCUIT - TULLAWALLAL 17.4 KLMS - CLASS 4 TRACK 6-7 HRS RETURN.
From the car park, we head off thru rainforest along the border track and after nearly 2klms, we meet the coomera graded track. Heading gently downhill for the next 4klms, we pass a wide range of different vegetation including open forest and heath until we reach the COOMERA FALLS LOOKOUT. The new cantilevered deck allows for stunning views of coomera and Yarrabilgong falls and the 150mts deep Coomera Gorge below. Within minutes we reach the first of many water crossings as the track follows the river upstream for the next 3.7klms. This section is widely believed to be the most beautiful in lamington national park where there seems to be an even more spectacular waterfall around every corner. Lamington blue crayfish can often be seen walking the track after rain in this area. After passing the last waterfall, we again reach the border track and follow it back thru rainforest to the carpark. There is an optional side walk to TULLAWALLAL to experience the ancient Antarctic beech trees. 1.5 klms.
